In the medieval village of Vesc, near Dieulefit, in the heart of the Drôme Provençale, Camping Le Matin Calme offers a peaceful nature camping holiday in southern France. This three-star, family-friendly campsite is perched above the valley, surrounded by lavender fields, fresh mountain air, and the sound of cicadas in summer. Set in a quiet, wooded environment known for its exceptional air quality, the campground invites you to experience the authentic charm of camping in the Drôme Provençale — between mountains, picturesque villages, and unspoiled nature.
Discover our 18 spacious camping pitches, ranging from 80 to 100 m², in the heart of the Drôme Provençale. Nine pitches offer open views over the Vesc valley. Each pitch has access to water and is available with or without electricity. Please remember to bring your adaptors and extension cords, which are also available to rent on request. Refrigerators can be rented for additional comfort. Enjoy a peaceful nature stay in the Drôme Provençale with on-site facilities including a swimming pool, tennis court, children’s playground, and a restaurant open at lunchtime. Ideal for families or friends looking for a quiet and authentic camping experience, our small, family-run campground offers simplicity, space, and calm, far from the crowds of large tourist resorts.
If you are looking for simple, clean, and authentic accommodation in the Drôme Provençale, our rentals are a perfect choice. Enjoy the beauty of nature with a little extra comfort, ideal for guests who love outdoor holidays but prefer not to sleep in a tent. At our small, family-run campsite in the Drôme, you can choose from two types of accommodation, both comfortable, practical, and designed for a peaceful stay close to nature.
All rentals are non-smoking and pet-free, and do not include towels or bed linen.
Each accommodation can host 1 to 5 people.
Bed linen can be rented on site. All beds are equipped with pillows and blankets for cooler nights.
With the exception of campervans and caravans, personal vehicles are not allowed inside Camping Le Matin Calme, except for loading and unloading.
Camping Le Matin Calme is a true place to rest and unwind in the Drôme Provençale. There are no discos or loud entertainment here — just the natural sounds of the countryside. On site, you can enjoy a swimming pool, tennis court, ping-pong table, and children’s playground. A pétanque courtis located just across the street, and scenic hiking trails begin nearby, making the area especially popular with nature lovers and hikers from across Europe.
For safety reasons, we do not provide barbecues. You are welcome to bring your own gas or electric barbecue only. Open flames are strictly prohibited anywhere on the campground due to seasonal fire risks.
Nearby activities include horseback riding, rivers, summer markets, petting farms, and charming hilltop villages. For the more adventurous, paragliding is available from the mountain just behind the campsite.
Cool off with a swim in our pool, or visit the river located approximately 10 km away.
Wi-Fi is available in the reception area and restaurant, but not throughout the campground.
Vesc is a small and peaceful village with limited local shops. For groceries and larger stores, the nearest shopping center is located in Dieulefit, 12 km away.
“Le Temps des Copains”, our small, family-run restaurant nestled in the Vesc valley, serves simple, generous cuisine prepared with local, regional ingredients. With its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the restaurant is open for lunch only, from Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
During July and August we offer baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolate from 9:00am, available by reservation the night before.

We are Jared Hall and Feriel Malti-Hall, owners of Camping Le Matin Calme since 2021. With roots in the United States and France, we spent six years traveling around the world and the U.S. in our RV, eventually landing in the magical Drôme Provençale. Personal vehicles are not permitted inside Camping Le Matin Calme, except for loading and unloading. Parking is available at the entrance of the campground. Our accommodations are prepared with care before your arrival. At the end of your stay, you may choose to clean the accommodation yourself or opt for an optional end-of-stay cleaning service, available for €60.

With the exception of campers and caravans, personal vehicles are not allowed in Camping Le Matin Calme, other than for loading and unloading. Parking is in front of the campground.
For safety reasons, charging electric vehicles is not permitted at the campground’s electrical points. A local tourist tax (taxe de séjour) of €0.66 per adult (18+) per day will be added upon arrival.

Key Points to Remember:
We spent two very pleasant weeks in this pretty, very quiet campsite. The owners are extraordinarily kind. Good meals on site with local wines and beers. What happiness!
There is everything you need in this pretty little campsite. The simplicity, the time passing slowly, the setting and the adorable team make us want to come back every year.
